FAQs (for tutoring)
What is the program structure?
Unless the student has recently taken the test, we begin by first having the student take a diagnostic test at home for benchmark purposes before proceeding with the tutoring sessions. Another diagnostic test is given midway through the tutoring program in order to gauge progress, with a final test given at the end, once all of the instruction sessions are completed. We conduct a comprehensive review session of the final two diagnostic tests with the student.
Where are the sessions conducted?
We do in-person tutoring for students in Singapore either at the students’ home or at our facility at Balmoral Plaza. We are available for Zoom-enabled sessions for students elsewhere.
How much does it cost?
We charge an hourly fee of S$225 for personal tutoring in Singapore at the students’ home. The charge is S$200 per hour for sessions at our Balmoral Plaza location. Zoom tutoring is also S$200 per hour. Billing is done at the end of the calendar month via a formal tax invoice payable via transfer or credit card.
How many sessions are needed?
The number of sessions required will vary by student and test, but typically a minimum of 10-12 hours are needed in order to cover all of the material and review the diagnostic tests.
How long are the sessions?
The session length is 1.5 hours on average to best take into account a typical student’s attention span.
How do I register?
You can register via our registration page, link here. Our capacity is limited and we are operating on a first come, first serve basis. The first step with any test is normally to take a free official diagnostic test to establish a starting point and plan from there.
Who are the teachers?
Our teachers are graduates of top American universities such as Columbia, USC, and Stanford with a wealth of experience in subject-specific tutoring. For SSAT, all of us (for better or worse) graduated from top prep schools in New England (St. Paul’s, Milton, NMH) and are intimately familiar with that world as well.
